Victor Labonte-Smith (1941) has written twenty Western novels, some of which have been published. He has lived most of his life in BC. He currently lives on Cranberry Lake in Powell River, BC. He's the third generation on this father's side to live in British Columbia. His wife, Cecile Fortier, paints the covers of his books.

He participated in the SCWES Art & Words Festival in 2022.
