Michael Healey is a retired professor of environmental science from UBC. He is author or co-author of over 200 scientific publications and editor of four books on environmental topics. He writes poetry and fiction and is a keen nature photographer. He is currently working on two books: a thriller and a book of salmon stories. A recent arrival to the Sunshine Coast, he has become involved with Elder College, and the Gibsons Seniors Society.
He participated in the SCWES Art & Words Festival in 2024.
