Author-illustrator Aidan Cassie studied animation and earned a media arts degree at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design and the Edinburgh College of Art. After working in animation and character design, she moved into storytelling through picture books when she moved to Salt Spring Island to raise her family in 2008. Her animal-character filled books have won the Victoria Children’s Book Prize, the Oy Vey! Joan Betty Stuchner Award for Funniest Children’s Book, and been nominated for the Chocolate Lily and Christie Harris Illustrated Children’s Literature awards.
